Free educational use

Pela Learn is a free Japanese study website. It has no subscriptions, paid lessons, or advertising. It is not an official JLPT product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Japan Foundation or Japan Educational Exchanges and Services.

Practice questions and sources

Pela’s practice questions are original unless a question is explicitly labeled as an excerpt. JLPT-style item formats and level organization are informed by the Official Worldwide JLPT sample questions. Source: Official Worldwide Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Website.

Grammar scope is informed by Tae Kim’s Guide to Japanese Grammar. Japanese Language Proficiency Test and JLPT names belong to their respective rights holders.

Copyright and corrections

Pela’s interface, original questions, and original code are protected by their applicable rights. Third-party names and referenced materials remain the property of their owners. Rights holders may request a correction or removal by emailing [email protected].

Privacy and storage

Practice progress is stored in your browser. If you allow cookies, Pela uses a first-party cookie to remember settings and your last stage. Friends, competition metrics, streak items, and optional push-notification subscriptions may be stored in Pela’s Cloudflare database. Push reminders require your browser’s permission and can be disabled in browser settings.

Google sign-in is not active yet. Pela does not sell personal information.
